#InstrumentedMouthguards are already used widely across collision sports such as #AustralianFootball and #Rugby, and will only become more common in sports globally 🌏While they've quickly become a technology that I'm very familiar with, this episode breaks down the science behind iMGs and how they are being used to aid in decision-making surrounding #concussion and investigating exposure to head impacts in sport 🧠(For anyone who loves #sport, I highly recommend this #podcast!) 🤗

It just made sense when I heard that Women's Elite Rugby is launching a professional competition in the USA next year.My initial reaction was validated after hearing Jessica Hammond-Graf, Ed.D. and Koma Gandy on the Eagles Overseas Rugby.During this episode Jessica and Koma share a very clear vision for what WER hopes to achieve. There is lots to be excited about;✅ WER is built on the foundation of Women's Premier League - a domestic competition running since 2009✅ All seven WPL clubs agreed the time was right to establish a professional league✅ Representatives from all clubs are members of the founding WER board✅ A player's committee has already been established with representatives from all clubs✅ WER will operate a centralised model; retaining ownership and financing of 6-8 clubs✅ Recognition of WER's role in building success for the Women's Eagles programs✅ A commitment to player welfare and fair compensation✅ Organizational leaders that are deeply connected to the game and its community✅ Operating in a thriving market for women's sport investment✅One of the only women's full contact ball sports in the US✅ A 10-year runway of major events including hosting rights of LA28 and RWC33.The excitement about the launch of WER is clearly being felt by current players too. Jenny Kronish, USA Eagle 297, expressed how supportive she and other current players are of WER. Jenny shared that a number of current Eagles players compete in foreign professional leagues so WER provides an opportunity for them, and approximately another 150 or so players, to pursue a professional career on home soil. All of this points to the fact that the establishment of a women's professional competition in the US makes perfect sense and that WER is the perfect vehicle to make this a reality.
