What does the position entail?

As Sales Director Executive Education, you are responsible foridentifying external organisational executive education needs, and matching these with RSM’s world leading knowledge and executive education offerings.

That means you will be responsible for the commercial results of RSM BV’s open and customised programmes, in line with RSM BV’s strategic objectives. By proactively developing and maintaining deep, lasting relationships at the executive level, leading to sustainable and mutually beneficial exchanges of value between the BV and corporate clients, you make sure we maximise the positive educational impact of our executive education and ensure financial viability for our organisation. Together with the Associate Director Open/Customised Programmes, you are responsible for the total open and customised programme value chain and overall programme results (e.g. revenue, margin, rankings, NPS).

Your tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be able to offer expert advice on new trends, products and services within the Management and Executive Education industry, both locally and internationally.
  • Develop and implement a proactive sales strategy that includes prioritising current and prospective clients in order to grow sustainable revenue streams for Executive Education in a way that enhances RSM’s reputation in the corporate market and expands our impact as a force for position change.
  • Lead a sales team dedicated to building client relationships and growing revenue from customised programmes; and enhancing RSM’s reputation in the corporate market.
  • Work closely with the Dean of RSM as well as the Dean of Engagement and build strong internal relationships within the BV, as well as with internal and adjunct faculty.
  • Drive account management in a systematic manner with target clients, including active engagement with C-level executives and other business influencers.
  • Pursue new business leads to build and develop long term revenue generating corporate relationships.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality proposals and SLA’s and engage with internal and external stakeholders where required.
  • Be (together with the Associate Director OP/CP) end-responsible for the overall quality & client satisfaction of customised programmes.
  • Be (together with the Associate Director OP/CP) responsible for the design, development and delivery of a few customised programmes at our most strategic clients
  • Actively participate in client-related events to deepen relationships and drive opportunities

Job requirements

What do you need to have to be successful in this position?

  • Advanced University degree in Business Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in sales, preferably in the area of learning and development or post-experience education.
  • Proven track record of solution selling & building a network at C-suite and executive level
  • Ability to understand the decision-making process as well as stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term associations based on trust
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, networking, relationship building and influencing skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Flexible and adaptable self-starter with the ability to take ownership.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor a successful relationship-oriented sales team.
